Start by soft starter
(electronic starter)
A soft starter is any device that controls the acceleration of an electric motor by controlling the applied voltage.
Now leave us a brief reminder of the need to have a starter for any engine.
Engine start could be in three ways.
Full voltage application at intervals of time: directly on starting line
Roll-out application: Star Delta Start and Soft start
Apply autotransformer startup part
In the previous chapters, we have seen that some start-up processes allow to limit the energy required to the network and to reduce the constraints on the installation.
From where:
* Reduced online voltage drop so as not to disturb other users.
* A reduction of the current peak which is accompanied by a reduction of the motor torque.
The role of an electronic starter is to allow a gradual start of the engine
•Benefit:
These starters increasingly replace starters with electromagnetic technology (star triangle, by stator or rotoric resistors, by autotransformer) and this in all power ranges.
Soft starters can remove the inrush currents from the engine at start-up (6 In), without using the triangle star, auto-transformer or resistor start-up. Soft starters also manage the direction of rotation of the motor and the stopping phases.
After the start-up phase (the establishment of the standing speed) is completed, the starter is "shunted"by a shunt switch.
- motor overload protection, phase failure protection, integrated thermal protection.
- Output fault.
- engine diagnostics.
- control by keyboard or terminal block.
- memory of defects.
- adjustment of the I curve according to the application
Now leave us a brief reminder of the need to have a starter for any engine.
Introduction :
The inductive engine can start itself because of the interaction between the rotating magnetic field flow and the Rotary flow, which causes a high Rotary current with increased torque. As a result, the stator draws high current at the time the motor reaches full speed a large amount of current (greater than the rated current) are drawn and this can cause heating up of the engine, eventually damaging it. To prevent this, he needs a starter motor.Engine start could be in three ways.
